New Profile Pic: Another tribute to New Orleans - Cafe Du Monde, the best best best best best best!!!!!
I could eat these beignets and cups of cafe au lait until I dropped dead of a heart attack. And then I would want them served at my funeral. (Okay, so not very appropriate since we are talking about 1,000 dead because of this hideous storm... ).. but anyway, I love you, New Orleans!
Also, check out my sister's site for a cool fundraiser for the Big Easy - www.xanga.com/ckimchi.
Why studying Russian is like seppuku (Japanese samurai suicide), reason #2,245,354:
The word "friend" changes depending on if you have 1 friend, 2-4 friends, or 5 or more friends.
The word "friend" is the same if you have "5 or more" friends, or if you have "not very many" friends.
WHAT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE???? NONE AT ALL. RUSSIAN, YOU STINK!!! (waving my fist in the air)
I WILL conquer you.
Weekend plans:
Friday -- work, then worship practice, then hanging out with foreigners.
Saturday - a foreigner garage sale (under sad circumstances - the father was deported; they've been here for 7 years - and now they have to leave); then resting/studying Russian/hanging with my neighbor; then a birthday party where I've been asked to sing a song (?!?).
Sunday -- International church; then a potluck. Studying Russian. Hanging out with my neighbor. Etc, etc.
What are YOU doing this weekend?

mmm... cafe du monde... that place was so good!!!
Was it the same for you - the first thing they taught us how to say in Russian class was, "may I have some cigarettes?" Of course, this was in 1991, just after the revolution.
This weekend, I took a tour of the Southland, from Orange County to Simi Valley to Pasadena and back down to the O.C., all in one day!
