Things that have made me laugh out loud, lately:
- the "diahrrea" song from the movie Parenthood ("when you're sliding into home and you're feeling something foam..")
- King Julien and his sidekicks from the movie Madagascar, especially when they're dancing and doing the robot. Cedric the Entertainer is HI-larious. I find the combination of his voice and the animal using the voice very .. uh.. entertaining, indeed.
- Karen, from Will & Grace, doing a really robotic small wave while saying "Adios"... you have to see it yourself...
- I received one of those automated emails from a non-native English speaker that read "I am out of the office on an official TRIPE". I know it's rude to laugh, but come 'on, it's funny. And then the response from friend jelly: "he must be asian. only asians go on tripes.the whiteys, they go on official ribeyes. okay. i'll stop."
Random bazaar statements:
- "I'm sorry this rice is so expensive" - from a Korean grandma selling me 713 rice, the kind of rice my people (and yours, too, maybe) eat
- "They're all good! They're all good!" - annoyed orange seller, watching me squeeze each of her oranges
Sad thought:
- being a housewife and mother are already the most underappreciated, underpaid jobs on this earth. compound that with a culture that treats women, in general, like crap... and you get...
ICK!
- sitting in my neighbor's kitchen, trying not to notice all the cockroaches running around her kitchen. At least they're small? I remember seeing some nasty big cockroaches in my house in Houston. BLECH BLECH.
Tick......(10 second pause)... Tick... (10 second pause)... tick... (10 second pause):
- what it sounds like when I'm typing an email in Russian. It took me about 20 minutes to write a 5 line email.
Thus ends the fascinating report from this side of the world.

haha...the orange story is funny....and Michael Bolton?
Ahrim, tell me... how we can be lovers...if we can't be, can't be friends?
During my first year of teaching, when i was setting up my classroom, a senior citizen teacher down the hall asked me to take away a stack of construction paper that was supposedly left for me. I removed them, only to discover a nest of small roaches CRAWLING in the entire corner that the huge stack of paper had concealed. I literally SHOT to my room to retrieve my Raid and sprayed the suckers...only to turn around and have the teacher I now strongly dislike hold a single sheet of paper towel at me and say, "Do you mind?" My answer was, "Yes, I do mind."
