Happy International Women's Day!
Why don't we celebrate this holiday in America? We do here and even get a day off from work.
Of course here, the women prepare the food for the "womens' day" parties at work and then clean up afterwards. So it's not really a holiday for them. But we did get roses from the male coworkers in our office. And women give presents to each other. And men give presents to the women in their lives.
But why do the men get the day off, too?
Questions to ponder on a Wednesday.

*happy belated birthday, ahrim-u* that Scottish dancing poster is just TOO much.
we miss you here! stay warm & healthy & in good spirits.
It's like the Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah holidays in the 99% African American/Black or Latino schools I work in. You know, appreciation, respect, and plus the fact that, well, we just want the day off. And what could men do at work without us?
Doesn't Valentine's Day = Women's Day here in the U.S.?
It does seem silly that the women do all of the work on the day. I wonder how things would turn out if men did all of the work on an international men's day? Stuff would probably catch on fire.
