Notable activities of a recent Saturday night party I attended (at the head of the World Bank's HUGE house):
1. Savoring veggie dip made with real sour cream and hidden valley ranch dressing mix.
2. Eating shmaltz, a German spread made with pork fat, onions, and apples. Not bad, but not good either.
3. Hearing the Israeli ambassador announce "hey, everyone! time to dance!"
4. Having the Israeli ambassador grab my hand and bring me into the dance circle.
5. Meeting a woman who is doing her PhD research on this country's pop music.
6. Dancing to Gloria Estefan. And enjoying it.
7. Cavorting with various Europeans. They know how to party.
8. My knees hurting the next day.
Definitely a unique event that I would not have been able to experience in the US!
